The doctors who own and lead Children’s Medical Office, a private pediatric office in North Andover, wanted their space to appeal to all their patients, from newborns to teenagers. They outgrew their former space and leased a 7,500 sq.ft. space in a beautifully restored historic mill building in order to give even better care to their patients.
The design strives to be dynamic and exciting, avoid the feel of an overly clinical space, remain highly functional, and not hide any of the charm of the historic structure. The waiting room is organized to allow patients who are visiting for a well check and sick patients to sit separately. The flow into the exam area allows for one-way circulation to prevent mixing. The material palette and color scheme serve multiple purposes from wayfinding to art, creating a cohesive feeling throughout the spaces. Even the custom wall murals integrate the vibrant colors with representation of the diverse clientele the practice serves.
